Casting Calls - Dad

About the Job

About the Job

Character appears, male, age 60-70, Latino, Hispanic, or mixed race. He’s the dad who’s always has a one-liner ready but never tries too hard to land it. He’s effortlessly funny in that ‘sitcom dad’ kind of way. He’s dry, supportive, and just a little smug when he’s right (which is often). He reacts to chaos with calm sarcasm and a raised brow, not big energy. He’s the first person who’d help you fix something… but not before making a joke about how you broke it in the first place. Tone: Real, likable, quick with a dry quip. A guy who’s seen a few things, keeps it light, but still marvels when life surprises him. Equal parts dad-joke energy and genuine awe. The humor should feel natural, not performed.
