Mimi 14-year-old teenager lives in El Paso, Texas, and doesn't fit in with her family or the mentality of the community where she lives with her sister, Sonia 19-year-old teenager, and their parents: Domingo (47), a horse trainer, and Rosa (42), who cleans upscale homes. Mimi sees hypocrisy everywhere. Along with her best friend and neighbor, Violeta 16-year-old teenager, she finds refuge in friendship and punk, the music they both love. When they learn that one of their favorite bands will be playing in Ciudad Juárez, they plan their trip… and their eventual escape.
