Synopsis:

EAT THE SUN is a narrative feature film set in our modern ecological reality and it follows two siblings as they return “home” to haunting absences. Everything around is now drained, depleted, alien. With buried secrets, sticky memories and old roles, they attempt to pack up. As their unsettling conditions persist, the closer they get to each other, the more entangled they become. Risking not only the task at hand, but the very possibility of family. The film’s striking, palpable atmosphere, though inflected by a visceral presence and strange disorientation, is entirely informed by research.

Project Notes

Logline: Manuel and Ida’s father died two years ago. Now debt and obligation call them back to his house with a seemingly straightforward task: pack up and move out for good. But as the siblings arrive in the arid, unincorporated town in the Southwest, they’re confronted with much more than an empty house.
