The overall tone is driven by performance-based comedy. Male, 50s–70s, white male. Salty is a timeworn crab fisherman with brine in his blood. He’s spent his life working dangerous jobs on the high seas. Squalls, sinkings, shady captains—he’s survived countless near-death situations, and the proof is written all over his wrinkles and scars. Safe to say, Salty’s lived and lost enough to know that if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. So when he overhears a little lass rattling on about “Dave” like it’s some miracle solution, his internal alarm bells start a-clanging. As the gruffest, greyest guy in this retro-hip joint, he takes it upon himself to be the one who talks some sense into the younglings. (Voice note: Let’s have Salty speak slowly, gravely, and grimly. And consider an accent for him too, like coastal Maine, Boston, or Irish.)
