Psychology: Nandu operates on pride and dignity. He views Chirayu’s arrest not just as a legal failure, but as a personal insult to the sacrifices he made to bring the family to America. He is a man who followed the rules to survive, and he cannot comprehend why his son would risk everything for "nothing". Key Scene: The post-arrest confrontation. While the rest of the family weeps, Nandu is furious, screaming that they were "dragged out of the house like animals". He is broken by the shame brought upon his name.
